Costa Rica Project
One of our big projects for Spanish was The National Parks Of Costa Rica. I was paired up with three other classmates. We were instructed to create a power point on the different national parks of Costa Rica. We described the most popular parks, the activities you can do, and the many trails you can hike on. This assignment was significant because it taught the different areas of Costa Rica that people don't pay attention too. It was also nice seeing other groups presentation because there were food, culture, and fashion presentations also. I really got to understand what Costa Rica is like and see how their traditions run. It was a phenomenal experience now knowing what there is to do and eat in Costa Rica. I would love to visit when I can.
Spanish Songs
These assignments are given to us on a regular basis. We are given songs in Spanish and we must fill in the blank and translate into English. She plays the song 3 times to ensure that you can hear all the words. You and a partner must figure out what it says and make sure it makes sense when put in English. These are significant assignments for me because it helps me on my listening when someone is talking in Spanish. It also helps my translation, which will let me respond back if I understand what they're saying. It's meaningful to me because I was raised in a family that speaks Spanish, but I'm somehow the one that doesn't speak it. I know that Spanish class has help me communicate better with family members, and any other people. It has an impact on me because its my heritage. Listening to the music and understanding what they say, it makes me realize my inner self and where I came from. I now know that Spanish can help me throughout life, especially when being hired for jobs. It is a big advantage over the other candidates.
Ways To Help Your Environment In Your Home
One important project we had was ways to help your environment in your home. We had to create a booklet explaining ways to help save the environment in your home. It had to be in Spanish and have pictures. We then had to memorize and present the book to the class. It was a very difficult but fun experience. This assignment is important to me because it really helped me to learn how to speak fluently. I memorized my lines and made it seem smooth, as though I was a native speaker. It's meaningful to me because it really got me to think that the more practice and memorization I get, the more fluent I'll sound. This project did have an impact because it showed myself and my classmates that I can achieve anything if I put my mind to it. I now know the different ways to help save the environment in your home, and it has made an impact in my house as well.
